Give 804: Turn the Page for Richmond’s Kids
Give 804 is Richmond’s citywide campaign to rally behind one big goal: to create a culture of joyful reading in Richmond Public Schools.
This year, we’re raising $50,000 and collecting 10,000 books to support students in Richmond Public Schools directly.
Why Literacy?
Reading is the foundation for all learning. We’ve committed to 100% of students reading on third grade by 2030. To achieve this, we must pair excellent instruction with access to high-quality books, both at school and at home.
Give 804 is how we turn the page. Together.
Three Powerful Ways to Partner
1. Donate Books
Support classroom and home libraries by donating new or gently used children’s books.
Drop-off locations will be announced citywide in early August.
2. Fund the Future
Your investment makes a real impact on literacy for Richmond students.
Suggested giving levels:
- $8.04 — Buys one high-quality children’s book
- $18.04 — Buys two high-quality children’s books
- $80.40 — Supports at-home libraries
- $804 — Funds a classroom library
- $8040 — Funds a school library
Every dollar goes directly to literacy efforts in Richmond Public Schools.
3. Become a Reading Buddy
Sign up to read with a student twice a month.
Support early literacy through joy, connection, and consistency.
Why Now?
Give 804 launches as the school year begins. This is our chance to show Richmond’s students what they mean to us, and to invest in a future where every child can read, thrive, and lead.
Let’s turn the page, together!
