Cardinal Strong Fund

On the evening of August 26, 2024, Cardinal Elementary School was struck by lightning, resulting in a fire that caused significant damage to the building. Thankfully, no students were in the building at the time, and there were no injuries.

We are deeply grateful to the brave first responders for their swift action in containing the fire and ensuring everyone’s safety. We also want to sincerely thank the RPS facilities team for their immediate and ongoing support in the aftermath of this incident.

Introducing the Cardinal Strong Fund:

In response to this unexpected event, we established the Cardinal Strong Fund to support our students, teachers, and families during this challenging time. Your donations will directly assist with:

• Immediate Relief Efforts: Providing vital supplies and resources to help our students, teachers, and families who are affected by the fire.
• Support Services: Partnering with Richmond Public Schools to ensure all students receive the necessary food, medication, and other critical services while the school remains closed.
