The RPS Healing Response Fund was launched in response to a traumatic event that took place on June 6, 2023. Since then, we've been on the ground, supporting hundreds of RPS families as they navigate various crises.
Unfortunately, we are grieving the loss of another student who was killed in a car crash on Friday, September 22, 2023.
The impact of the Trauma Response Fund has been considerable, but the need persists. We have heard firsthand from school leaders about the irreplaceable support the Trauma Response Fund has offered during these trying times, highlighting the critical, ongoing need to support our students, educators, and their families.
Here's what we’ve supported over the past three months:
- Supported school communities impacted by neighborhood or household violence, including providing resources for grief and bereavement.
- Provided direct financial assistance for families facing hardships due to fires, other crises
- Funded essential counseling services for RPS employees.
